AI on the Lot 2026 - Z-Image Turbo - t2i
The first workflow released for AI on the Lot 2026. A text-to-image workflow using Z-Image Turbo, made available for ComfyUI 101 workshop attendees to open and follow along if they choose.
About
This template is a compact, text-to-image workflow built around the Z-Image Turbo generator, designed to get from prompt to output with minimal setup. At its core is a single custom Z-Image Turbo T2I node (node id f2fdebf6-dfaf-43b6-9eb2-7f70613cfdc1) that encapsulates text encoding and image generation, paired with a SaveImage node to write results to disk and a MarkdownNote for in-graph guidance. The template is configured to use the Qwen 3 4B text encoder weights (qwen_3_4b.safetensors) for prompt conditioning.

Place qwen_3_4b.safetensors in ComfyUI/models/text_encoders, then restart ComfyUI. Verify the filename matches exactly and that the Z-Image Turbo node points to the correct encoder if a selector is exposed.
Set a fixed seed value in the Z-Image Turbo node instead of using random (-1). Keep resolution and sampling controls the same; then re-run to reproduce the same image or make controlled variations by changing only one parameter at a time.
Lower the resolution, reduce batch size (if exposed), and keep sampling steps modest. These changes reduce memory and time while preserving most of the visual quality for drafts.
Open the SaveImage node and confirm the output directory is valid and writable. Adjust the filename prefix if needed, and re-run the queue. On some systems, creating the output folder manually can resolve permissions or path issues.
