Interior Design - Add furniture into a Render
This workflow adds your input furniture into a render. It uses a manual mask to crop around the target area and generates your furniture into the scene at the highest pixel fidelity.
About
This workflow teaches you how to insert a furniture asset into an interior render with clean edges, correct lighting, and high pixel fidelity. It combines manual masking (Painter) with smart inpainting and patch-based upscaling to keep your room render sharp. The core flow crops the masked region with InpaintCropImproved, synthesizes and blends the furniture using ByteDanceSeedreamNodeV2, then stitches the result back into the original image with InpaintStitchImproved so the full canvas remains unchanged outside your edit.

A clean reference helps, but it doesn’t have to be perfect. Use Painter to define the placement mask, and let the inpainting step refine edges and contact areas. If your PNG has alpha, consider using ImageRemoveAlpha+ to avoid edge halos.
Placement and scale are primarily guided by the mask region and the reference image. Resize the furniture asset before loading if needed, and adjust the mask to set footprint and orientation. Include the floor/wall contact area in the mask for better grounding and shadows.
Lighting and white balance may differ between the reference and the room. Enable ColorTransfer to harmonize tones. If it still looks off, tweak your prompt with lighting cues (e.g., warm afternoon light) and ensure the mask includes nearby context for more accurate color adaptation.
No. The workflow edits only within the mask. InpaintCropImproved processes a cropped, high-resolution patch, and InpaintStitchImproved composites it back so the rest of the image remains untouched and full-resolution.
